Discussions are being held in Dima city regarding the implementation of the three-month plan of the regional office of mineral resources and the plan for the next months. Mr. Umod Ujulu said in the discussion that he should work diligently to control illegal gold circulation in the region and use the wealth for the economic development of the country. He also mentioned that the amount of gold ore coming from the region to the National Bank has been decreasing significantly from time to time. Therefore, the amount of gold entering the national bank should be increased by addressing the challenges in the sector, according to the information of the regional communication office. He urged the stakeholders at all levels to strengthen monitoring and control activities and work diligently to stop the illegal transfer of gold. He also emphasized that the district and zonal leaders are expected to work with determination in the work and control of gold production in the remaining nine months. According to the report of the implementation of the plan presented by the director general of mineral resources development of the region, Aquata Cham, it was pointed out that the gold going to the National Bank has decreased due to the increase in illegal gold circulation in the region. It was also mentioned that only 63.6 kilograms of gold, which was planned to be submitted to the National Bank in the last three months, was 312.5 kilograms. He pointed out that the performance is 31.54 kg higher compared to the same period last year, but it is low compared to the planned plan, so it is pointed out that it requires the cooperation of the stakeholders.
