The Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute announced that the technical and financial studies for the launch of the third satellite called ETRSS-2 have been completed. According to Abdisa Yilma, Director General of Space Science and Geospatial Institute, preparations are being made to launch the third satellite by issuing an international tender. He explained that financial and technical studies have been completed and included in the government’s electronic government system. He said that a tender document is being prepared and an international open tender will be issued in the next few months. The third satellite is more powerful and will stay in space longer than the first satellite. He explained that in terms of service, the first satellite is an earth observation satellite.
