More than 2,800 new street lights are going to be installed in the capital
The Addis Ababa Roads Authority has announced that work has begun to install more than 2,800 new roadside lights.
Engineer Takele Lulana, Deputy Head of Addis Ababa Roads Authority, who met with Fana Broadcasting Corporation, said that more than 950 million birr has been budgeted for the work.
They also indicated that the work of planting ponds has started.
He said that the work of installing the roadside lights in six lots and 45 roads will be done.
The official mentioned the purchase of various machines and vehicles with the support of the Japanese government and said that the institution’s capacity building has contributed to the success of the work.
He also asked the public to inform the security agencies of individuals who cause damage to roadside lights.
He also pointed out that the Addis Ababa Roads Authority is doing extensive work in repairing damaged roadside lights.
