Preparations have been made to train more than 91,000 students in technical and vocational colleges in the Amhara region, the regional work and training office announced.
The bureau said parents should push for eligible students to attend technical and vocational colleges.
The deputy head of the office, Mr. Amare Alemu, said in a statement today that there are 236 public and private technical and vocational colleges in the region.
According to the admission results of the Ministry of Education, a plan has been made to teach 91 thousand 916 students from level 1 to 5 in regular education.
He mentioned that there are those who have registered and started attending their studies, and urged that the parents should fulfill their responsibilities by giving the necessary cooperation and pressure so that the remaining students can go to technical and vocational colleges to register and attend their studies.
At the same time, ESA reported that the office has planned to create employment opportunities for 1.2 million citizens in the fiscal year, and that it has been possible to create only 110 thousand jobs so far.
Therefore, he said, the relevant stakeholders should provide appropriate cooperation and support so that the creation of job opportunities can be carried out as planned.
